AFRMA Breeder of the Year Award
Becoming AFRMA Best Breeder of the Year
Best Breeder Perpetual Award to run from the Annual Show in January to the
November show each year with the award given at the Annual Meeting in December.
- Best Breeder of the Year will be awarded to the rat and mouse breeder who excels in breeding rats or
mice for the betterment of their species. The points are based on number of points accumulated during the
year from breeding/show classes, not pet classes and will include Non-Regular Classes—B. English, B.
Kitten, B. Breeder’s Group, B. Brood Doe, B. Progeny, and B. Stud Buck only, and will not include Pet,
Unstd., American Mouse, MMP, or Youth.
- A winning rat or mouse will be awarded 1 point for a Section win, 1 point for Variety win, 1 point for
BIS win, for a maximum of 3 points awarded per animal/breeder.
- Any designated Non-Regular class winner will get 1 point. Winners that are Unstandardized colors will not count.
- No disqualified, eliminated, or N/A animals will be included towards points.
- A rosette ribbon to commemorate Best Breeder of the Year will be issued to the winner by the Secretary-Treasurer.
- Membership in AFRMA is required in order to be eligible to compete for and win this award.
