Critter Critiques Breads Review
Karen Robbins, Winnetka, CA
My mice really enjoy getting bread as a treat. I look for ones that are seeded (bits of seeds/grains in them)
and ones without dough conditioners, sugar, preservatives, or artificial anything and have minimal ingredients.
If the ingredient list is a mile long, it’s too processed in my book. The breads I buy range from whole wheat,
to sprouted, to seeded types. Some of the ones they really like are the Trader Joe’s breads: “Seeded Harvest Bread”
and “Omega Seed Bread.”
The Seeded Harvest Bread is made from unbleached flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), whole wheat flour, rye flour, water, flax seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, honey, yeast, salt.
The Omega Seed Bread is made of unbleached flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), whole wheat flour, filtered water, honey, walnut oil, malt, flax seed, olive oil, pumpkin seed, rye flour, sunflower seed, millet, salt, yeast, oats, quinoa, sesame seed, poppy seed, bran (wheat), corn meal.
NOTE: Trader Joe’s is headquartered in Monrovia, CA 91016. Their web site is www.traderjoes.com.
