This was the first time I had ever fed my rats anything other than lab blocks with occasional treats of fruits and vegetables. However, many of the rescue rats came to me eating grain mixtures. I noted how the rats picked through the variety of foods in the mixture and ate what they preferred and left the rest.

I fed Reggie Premium Rat Food to all my rats as a supplement to their regular feed, the lab blocks. The rats ranged in age from 3 months to over 2 years of age. With the exception of one rat, all of my rats really liked this food and ate every piece of it. The one rat who didn’t eat it all is known to leave treats half eaten as well.

While I cannot recommend this food as a rat’s main diet as I did not do that, I can highly recommend it as a supplemental treat for rats. They love it.
