History of The Fancy, Continued: Clubs In The U.S. 1890

Rat reading book

I found another mouse club in doing a search for an old magazine. This one in Chicago, IL.

1890 – Fancy Mouse Club, Chicago, IL

I found one mention of this in the October 25, 1890, Vol. 5 No. 17, the Fanciers’ Journal and it was a generic reference so don’t know what the official name of the club was at the time. The article tells of a Fanciers’ Exhibition Palace in Chicago that had several floors used by the various clubs for their shows. This would have been the first club here in the U.S.A. This article is online in Vol. 5 (has No. 1 July 5, 1890 to No. 26 Dec. 27, 1890) of the Fanciers’ Journal: Devoted to Dogs, Poultry, Pigeons & Pet Stock. *
