Tip For Breaking Up Fights

By Karen Robbins

Fighting Rats I’ve used several different methods over the years for breaking up fights with both rats and mice. The easiest is to take a spray bottle, fill with water, and squirt the culprits (the same as you would use for cats). It is safe to spray the animal (unlike some sprays where you have to be careful and not spray any into their face), you don’t have to open the cage and handle the animal to put something on it (many times I just spray through the bars of the cage), and there is no residue you have to worry about. *
