Anna Redwood spent a month at Camp Bastion creating the 11 foot tall metal jerboa (desert rat).
A sculpture of the famous Desert Rats insignia has been created from parts of armored vehicles used in Afghanistan. The jerboa sculpture is the 7th Armoured Division’s insignia which originated in the deserts of Tunisia in 1942.

A A monument to laboratory rats/mice has been erected in Novosibirsk, Russia. This 6 foot tall bronze statue created by artist Andrew Kharevich and sculpted by Alexey Agrikolyansky sits near the Academic Institute of Cytology and Genetics and combines the image of the laboratory mouse and a scientist. The monument was opened on the 120th anniversary of Novosibirsk.
